Recently I have been trying to invest in self-care. Making sure I take the time to take care of me. This can be little things, making time to sit and read a book, watching a film with my husband. It is also making time to get my hair cut, treat myself to a skin analysis, get a massage.
When I am looking for a place to treat myself I always come back to Preened and Polished in Manchester.
I found this little haven when looking for a place to take my mum and niece to get our nails done. It was a treat for a girls day out. Preened and Polished came up as a good location and good price.
I liked it so much I took my mum for her birthday and I’ve been back a few times myself.
What I like a preened and polished is that it really is a little haven from the busy streets of Manchester.
The entrance is a door way on Thomas Street next to the Tapas Bar and Restaurant. The first time I walked right past it and spent a confused 5 minutes walking up and down the street as google maps kept telling me I was walking past it!
You walk down the steps and into the salon itself.
The main room is nice and open plan. The lighting is low and it feels so relaxing to just walk in there.
There are a couple of tables set up for manicures and stations for pedicures. Then several doors that lead to the treatment rooms.
So far I’ve had tried the facial, massage and manicure treatments.
The manicure wasn’t great. It was a simple file and polish but the polish was a little patchy when I got outside. I probably wouldn’t get a manicure here again.
The facial and massage treatments are really good.
The treatment rooms are so comfortable. The temperature is kept at warm and you’re thoroughly covered in towels and a blanket to make sure you’re comfortable.
The therapists I have seen have always been professional and welcoming. Recently I went for a head, back and shoulder, arm and hand massage. It was amazing! I felt so relaxed and pampered I almost fell asleep on the table. I’m sure many people do!
What I really like about this place is that the atmosphere is so relaxing, the treatments are great and the prices are good. They even have monthly offers. Truly a little gem in Manchester.
