I have been looking for a suitable place to get a skin analysis for a while now. I really wanted an in depth analysis that could reveal to me all the things I didn’t know about my skin.
It was surprisingly difficult to find a good place in Manchester that didn’t cost the earth! So when I saw a deal of Groupon for a skin analysis and facial with the IIAA (International Institute of Anti-Aging) at the Environ counter in Harvey Nichols, Manchester I jumped at the opportunity.
My consultant for the analysis and facial was Amy, who is amazing! She took pictures of my skin and we went through the analysis together. Everything from sun damage to dehydration to open pores.
It was so interesting to look at the pictures and learn all about my skin. What I found really interesting was that my skin is dehydrated. I thought I had oily skin so I have always used products for oily skin. What my skin actually is, is dehydrated. So my skin is over producing oil to combat my dehydration. It is also contributing to my large pores.
Amy gave me some really good advice on what ingredients to search for in products. She also gave me advice on supplements that I should look out for. – I have never considered using supplements for my skin before so this was really useful!
What I really liked was even though the IIAA is attached to the brand Environ, at no point did she try to push any products on me. All she did was give me some great advice. – Exactly what I wanted.
After my analysis I had a prescription vitamin facial to boost my vitamin A, C and hyaluronic acid.
Amy was fantastic. The facial was very relaxing and gentle. When she applied the serum she put this thick jelly like mask all over my face covering my eyes to help it sink it. This feels so strange! It’s like having putty all over your face. It’s really cool and relaxing. It helps that you get a little shoulder rub while the mask is setting!
The mask is supposed to help all the vitamins in the serum penetrate as deep into your skin as they can go.
What is unique to any facial I’ve had before is that they use sounds waves to help the products sink into the skin. They run a little metal plate over your face which feels quite tingly but not unpleasant.
Overall it was a great facial and my skin felt great afterwards. I didn’t mind going out with no make-up on!
This was a fantastic experience. The skin analysis was informative, personalised and interesting. The facial was relaxing, rejuvenating and made my skin feel amazing. I would recommend this to anyone!
